NORWELA News

Friends, Parents, Leaders, and Supporters,

We have made some tough decisions regarding our operations at the Norwela Council in regard to current events in our nation. We want to assure you that these decisions were not made in haste but using what we feel is in the best interest of our youth, volunteers, parents, and staff.

* Effective March 20 the Rasberry Scout Service Center will be open, however NO public access will be allowed. This will be in effect until at least March 30 and at that time any further decisions will be made. You may call us during business hours from 8:30-4:30 M-F to conduct business as usual. Phones will be manned, records available, computers on, and we are accepting online, faxed, or mailed applications. If you need items from the Scout Shop we will work with you on a specific time to pick up that order. Call 318-868-2774 or e-mail amanda.denler@scouting.org for more information, to shop, etc. We want to serve you as best possible given our circumstances.

* Kinsey Scout Reservation will be closed through April 17.

* Field Staff will be working remotely and will be accessible by phone and e-mail to assist you.

* March and April Roundtables, Trainings, Key 3 meetings etc. will either be postponed, or if possible, take place in a Zoom/Skype format. These decisions will be made at the District level. In regards to unit meetings or campouts (at locations outside of KSR) that will be determined by your Chartered Partner, Unit Committee, leaders, and parents as to these taking place.

Scouting is still strong and we will resume normal operations as soon as possible. Our communities NEED Scouting and we will do all that we can to support you during these trying times. As more information or changes come to our attention, we will let you know. Please stay informed with the Council Facebook page and website.
