In February 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate 100 years as an organization. Founded as an outlet to prepare every eligible youth in America to become a participating citizen and leader, BSA has more than fulfilled its mission. Today, as we celebrate our first 100 years, we not only reflect on our rich history, but lay the foundation for a strong future, as well.

Welcome to the website of the Norwela Council, Boy Scouts of America Caddo Lodge 149. Please check with us frequently for current dates, important information on all activities, and the latest news. Our geographic area covers the nine northwest parishes of Louisiana. These parishes are; Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Red River, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Sabine, and Bienville.

Purpose of the Order of the Arrow
New Annual Health and Medical Record Parts A and C are to be completed annually by all BSA unit members (separate Class 3 medical forms are no longer required by adults over the age of 40). Part B is required, along with parts A and C, for any event that exceeds 72 consecutive hours, a Resident Camp setting, or when the nature of the activity is strenuous and demanding, such as service projects, work weekends, or high-adventure treks.
Don't forget, effective January 1, 2009, in order for your Unit's Tour Permit to be approved, at least one adult attending the tour must have completed Planning and Preparing for Hazardous Weather training.
