‘A Scout is Reverent’ is designed to be a multi-faith camp program for all registered youth Scouts to begin working on their Scouting religious awards. Age, Scouting type, and grade-level appropriate classes will be available.  The camp will have representatives from different religions and denominations leading classes. Although all requirements cannot be accomplished at this camp, contacts for leaders to finish the religious awards will be available for most scouts.

Every effort will be made to provide a denomination appropriate religious award class for all pre-registered youth.  It may not be possible to have representatives from every denomination to help instruct specific courses. We welcome leaders from all faiths having Scouts attending camp to be present and to be part of the staff. If your youth wants to attend this camp, you can help the camp by contacting your religious organizations leader or youth minister and asking them to contact the Camp Director for more information.

This program promises to be very popular and fill quickly. The camp facilities have a limit to the number of Scouts and staff that can be accommodated and camp registration will be based on a first come first serve basis with meals and printed course materials provided.

The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts have specific age related rules and regulations for youth camping without a parent or legal guardian. Contact the appropriate Scout Service Center for more specific details.

The registration DEADLINE for camp is 9:00am, Monday, 27 August  at the Scout Service Center on Beverly Street in Shreveport, La. The individual youth cost to attend Camp is $35.00 and individual adult cost is $25.00 for those accompanying youth (including a patch). All camp fees are due in full at the time of registration and individual youth registration forms are required for each youth. Registrations will not be accepted without a completed registration form. There are NO camp fee refunds due to individual cancellations.

Camp check in is at Garland Scout Ranch, Friday, August 7  between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Camp checkout is Sunday 9^th   at 12:00pm. Campsites will be assigned and grouped according to unit types. No meal provided on Friday night. All other meals will be provided.

Camping equipment and personal items are not provided by the camp and are the responsibility of each participant or unit. Examples items needed are:

Tent, sleeping bag (and other desired camp equipment), clothing, toiletries, rain gear, Bible, notebook, writing utensils, water bottle, day pack, insect replant, etc. Note: Class-A uniforms are required to be worn to Dinner in the dinning hall every evening and at Church Service on Sunday morning. Class-B uniforms are the desired dress for the rest of time at camp.

A note about personal information:

The registration form asks for personal information to be provided. The requested information is kept to a minimum but is needed and required. The information will be kept confidential and not used for reasons other than those related to this camp program. The personal religious information is needed to coordinate and setup the camp classes and only used by camp staff.
